The ÖAMTC prioritizes sustainability. They are moving towards the concept of all newly built ÖAMTC bases focusing on the well-being of future generations with a clean CO2 balance. Wood is a natural building material that will be used for the new construction and partial conversion of existing locations. For example, at the base in Scheibbs, which was completely renovated 35 years after its construction in 2022.
The wall and ceiling constructions were mainly built in wood and reinforced concrete was reduced to the minimum required. The HASSLACHER Group supplied around 340 m³ of cross laminated timber in visible and industrial quality, which was manufactured at the site in Stall im Mölltal (NORITEC Holzindustrie GmbH). Heating and cooling at the Scheibbs site is provided by an air-water heat pump, and a photovoltaic system on the roof ensures a largely self-sufficient power supply.
In accordance with the aforementioned sustainability standards of the ÖAMTC, timber construction was also used for other new buildings and conversions. For the Hollabrunn, Zwettl and Oberwart sites, the HASSLACHER Group supplied a total of approx. 1,224 m³ of cross laminated timber from the Stall im Mölltal site.
