A five-story Mass Timber office building is being built on Music Row in Nashville. StructureCraft is the structural engineer and contractor responsible for the Mass Timber and steel construction. The Mass Timber structure consists of prefabricated dowel-laminated-timber panles (DLT) and glued laminated timber columns and beams. The skeleton structure thus achieved transfers its horizontal loads to the interior, cantilevered steel structure. The elevator shaft was made of cross-laminated timber and has the required fire protection without any planking. Due to the focus was set on the wood, exposed structure, very special attention had to be paid to the connection details and the associated CNC machining.
