For the expansion of the French timber construction company EDWOOD, the HASSLACHER group supplied 135 m³ of glulam timber in strength class GL24h. The columns were designed as composite components and carry both the roof loads and the loads from the crane runway. The primary beams also define the shape of the gable roof and feature a structurally efficient straight bottom chord. With a straight or only slightly cambered bottom chord, additional tensile reinforcements perpendicular to the grain can be omitted.
In addition, 195 m³ of cross-laminated timber (CLT) were used and connected into a roof diaphragm using the X-fix system connector. X-fix C is a metal-free, self-tensioning, force-fit and form-fit wood-to-wood connection system that saves both time and costs during on-site installation. The timber components were manufactured at the HASSLACHER group production facilities in Hermagor (HASSLACHER Holzbausysteme GmbH) and Sachsenburg and Stall (both NORITEC Holzindustrie GmbH).
With the construction of its new offices and workshops, EDWOOD is responding to the steadily increasing demand for modern timber architecture, driven by its commitment to quality, high standards, and sustainability.
