In the original building of the existing Hotel Amerika Holzer in St. Kanzian on Lake Klopeiner, the first floor and attic floor were demolished and replaced by an annexe/the addition of another floor constructed of cross-laminated timber. The additional floor houses nine suites and twelve double rooms with balconies or loggias which are executed using an oiled solid timber structure. Cross-laminated timber in larch was also used in part in the outdoor space. Measurements of the sound insulation level were also taken on this project and sensational values were achieved.
