The investments made in the area of machine technology at the HASSLACHER PREDING Holzindustrie GmbH in Preding, Styria in recent years have now been followed by investments in the infrastructural area. Based on the new transport connection of the site, a new truck terminal in timber was designed by trecolore Architects.

The terminal consists of an office, administration and sanitary area as well as four weighbridges. All this finds space under a modern, 1,121 m² flying roof made of the renewable raw material wood. Four fixed and four temporary workplaces are set up on the ground floor. Around 160 m³ of glued laminated timber was used for the roof construction that hovers above the terminal. For the solid timber building below, around 250 m³ of HASSLACHER CLT, most of which already had an excellent surface finish in the factory, and solid structural timber as well as sawn timber from the HASSLACHER Group were used. The elaborately and precisely processed rhombus cladding was produced by the site itself. The new truck terminal was handed over for its intended purpose in September 2022.
